I am a wise-ways herbalist, certified nutritional herbologist and trained (by ALACE, the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators) Labor Doula serving Southern Humboldt and Northern Mendocino. (That's California, folks).

It is my belief that~

Women, being self-determined and autonomous, have the right to birth however they desire, with the support and in the setting they desire, regardless of financial, social, cultural, ethnic, religious, medical or other factors.

Women are self-responsible and should be offered honest information and resources which enable them to make their own best decisions. Our actions are our only true possesions.

Birth is a normal, healthy, natural, sacred, and mysterious event that should be revered, honored, and protected as such.

As a labor assistant, I offer you and your partner(s) unconditional, uninterrupted support, beginning at the onset of labor, or when you feel you need. I am on call 24/7 to answer your questions and provide you with resources from the time we estabish our relationship until two weeks postpartum. During that time, we will sit together three times before your labor and once postpartum. Doulas are renowned for their ability to ease a woman through labor and help support her partner. We hold space so that you and your partner can birth together, as you conceived together. We protect your peace and desires. We can act as advocates in a hospital setting, helping you articulate your needs and wishes prior to your birth, and ensuring those needs and wishes are honored at the time of your family's birth.
